Meeting with Professor Jung Hong Joo – Sungkyunkwan University – Republic of Korea

On October 30, 2018, Faculty of Finance and Banking had pleasure to welcome back Professor Jung Hong Joo, from Sungkyunkwan University – Republic of Korea. During his visit, Professor Jung Hong Joo had a meeting with lecturers from Faculty of Finance and Banking to discuss courses related to Insurance and also promote the collaborative programme in training and research between the two universities. In addition, Professor held a workshop for TDTU students to share his knowledge and working experiences in the insurance sector. This was a great opportunity for TDTU students to broaden their knowledge and learn about the Insurance field. 

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is a private research university with campuses in Seoul and Suwon. Globally, SKKU is ranked 108th by the QS worldwide university rankings. In the Times Higher Education 2018 World University Ranking, SKKU is ranked 111th. In the QS Asia rankings in 2016, SKKU was ranked 19th. The high ranking is attributed to SKKU's international engagement including short-term study abroad programs and dual-degree programs, as well as its industry ties to Samsung and its graduate reputation as evidenced in the high employment rate of SKKU graduates. SKKU was ranked second after Seoul National University in the Joongang Daily university rankings of 2015. In the Financial Times, SKKU’s Global MBA has been ranked as #59 worldwide, 11th in Asia, and #1 MBA in Korea.
