Post-Graduate Enrollment Information

Finance & Banking's post-graduate program helps students to update and enhance practical knowledge in business and management, banking management, financial management. Students may apply this knowledge in daily business activities such as creating a business plan, financial controlling, accounting and auditing in companies, banks, insurance firms, investment firms, and other non-profit organizations. Moreover, students are expected to work independently and creatively. On top of that, the program supplies students with research skills, which are essential to work as lectures in universities and colleges as well as pursuit a PhD degree in finance and banking area.

1+1 Master Program with Tomas Bata University

Introduction

Tomas Bata University in Zlín (hereinafter referred to as “TBU”) is a progressive and modern university following the current trends of higher education in Europe and in the world. With a current student population of more than 9 400, TBU ranks among medium-sized Czech universities. Since its establishment, hundreds of highly-qualified professionals have received education from the University. The University is named after a world-renowned entrepreneur Tomas Bata, founder of the shoe industry in Zlín. He played a significant role in the life of people in Zlín, as well as the whole of the Czech Republic and its economy. TBU is one of the leading universities in the field of economics and finance in the Czech Republic. TBU provides the one of the highest standards of university education from the bachelor’s degree, the follow-up master’s degree to doctoral study programs in the field of economics; it is based on scientific cooperation, research, learning, and creative activity. The institution study programs are approved by the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Czech Republic.

TBU is comprised of six faculties offering students the possibility to study technology, economics, management, natural sciences, informatics, humanities, art, logistics, and health care. Students on all levels of education are provided with modern facilities to advance their personal development and skills. During the classes, strong emphasis is put not only on the theoretical side but also on the practical side of the studies. Emphasis is also placed on participation in a variety of extracurricular activities. The University is open to all kinds of practical and academically stimulating ideas. TBU operates an open-door policy; hence, the most talented students, irrespective of their origin or background, are welcome.

The University puts great emphasis on the development of internationalization. Every year, hundreds of international students study at TBU in degree programs accredited in Czech or English to get their Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. degrees or in exchange programs. The student body is multicultural and comes from more than 40 countries worldwide, creating a valuable environment for intercultural interaction, knowledge sharing, and enriching experience. In addition, a student organization - Buddy System Zlín – exists in Zlín. It takes care of international students, helps them with everyday activities and makes their days at TBU easier and more pleasant.

The University also puts a strong emphasis on R&D activities carried out in cooperation with universities and R&D institutions from all over the world (USA, Canada, Russian Federation, P. R. China, India, Japan, etc.). At TBU, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the world’s finest academic minds. Moreover, faculties employ leaders in their fields who continue to make a difference in the world through their teaching and research activities.

In 2012, a prestigious certificate - ECTS Label – was awarded to TBU by the European Commission. The ECTS Label is the most significant European certificate awarded in the sphere of tertiary education and is recognized as proof of the high quality of the higher education institution.

Entry requirements

This program has following requirements for students

1. Students need to obtain bachelor degrees in finance, accounting or business administration 

2. If students don't have finance, accounting or business administration majors, they should have the bachelor degrees which are relevant to economics. These students need to enroll and pass supplement courses;

3. If students have temporary graduation certificate, they need to resubmit official bachelor degree in order to enroll the program sucessfully

4. TDTU students may enroll in 4+1 program and transfer into 1+1 program later.

English is medium of instruction for master the program: TOEIC 600, TOEFL iBT 50, B2 Europe, IELTS 5.5, PET/FCE 160 (English certificates must be valid for two years from your test date up to the application date) or Proof of bachelor/master program taught in the English language.

Career opportunities

 Graduation students are capable to work in finance and banking areas and following positions:
- Bank tellers, treasurers at commercial banks, joint-venture banks, international banks, credit funds, policy banks etc. (as known as bank and credit institutions)
- Customer officers, credit officers, credit risk officers, credit analysis officers, FX traders, foreign payment officers at banks and other credit institutions
- Traders, brokers, investment analysts, financial analysts at securities firms, insurance firms, investment funds, accounting and auditing firms and other financial institutions. 
- Financial officers, finance, accounting and auditing managers at corporations and other administrative-economic organizations such as Ministry of Finance, Taxation department, Treasury department, finance departments etc.
- Work as journal editors at finance and economics journals, magazines and communication firms.
- Work as financial analysts, personal financial investors.
- Work as researchers at local and international research institutions.

Graduation requirements
  1. Completed a minimum of 35 compulsory and optional credits;
  2. Reported in at least one scientific workshop;
  3. Successfully completed and defended their Master's thesis.
Fees and scholarships

Tuitions and accommodation fees :

  • The tuition fee for 1st year (study in TDTU): 43.500.000 VND
  • The tuition fee for 2nd year (study in Tomas Bata University ): 34.652.300 VND
  • Visa and travel ticket to Hanoi to interview: 6 million VND
  • Accommodation and transportation fee in Ho Chi Minh City: 7 million to 8 million VND per month
  • Student insurance cost in Czech republic: from 10 million to 15 million, depending on  insurance companies
  • Round way ticket from Vietnam to Czech: 20 million VND
  • Students may work up to 20 hours per week if they have a part-time job. The average wage is around 80.000 to 100.000 VND per hour)

4+1 Master Program

Advantages of Integration Program 4+1

  • Shorten the study time into 1 year: 1 semester for major subjects and 1 semester for thesis    
  • Applies to all current TDTU students
  • Required minimum Accumulated under-graduate credits is 100
  • Apply based rather than examination based entrance. The entrance and graduation TOIEC score is 500
  • Total learning time is 5 years for bachelor and master degrees
  • Time table is allocated in weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  •  Able to reserve learned subjects in up to 5 years. Students have various opportunities to participate in exchange program with international universities in Korea, Taiwan and Czech Republic.
  • Have opportunities to participate in science conferences, held by Finance and Banking Faculty
  • Have many chances to study with international students and join in seminars, hosted by foreign Professors. 

Objectives : Encourage and supports TDTU students to pursuit higher education and archive master in one year  after graduation

Targets

  • TDTU students need to learn 2 foundation subject (there is no requirement for learning record)

  • TDTU students who are accumulate over 100 credits (major credits and suitable credit) are allowed to study additional 12 credits in post-graduate program.
