Post-graduate Program - Major in Finance and Banking

1.Training Objective

The master program in finance and banking supports students to add, update and upgrade knowledge in business, management, finance and banking fields. Students may apply these knowledge to create business strategy, financial managements, accounting, taxation, auditing in financial and non-financial institutions. Students are expected to work independently and creatively. This training program also provide students with research skills to work as university lecturers or pursuit an PhD degree in finance and banking later.

2.Admission methods and admission candidates

2.1    Admission methods: entrance examination and requirements
2.2.1 Admission requirements:
- Candidate needs to have university bachelor degree
- Candidate needs to have valid and fulltime university bachelor degree, accredited by Ministry of Education within 12 months from the admission date
- All candidates need to have TOIEC 500 or equivalent English certificates, valid in 2 years from the applied date
2.1.2 Admission examinations:
- Other candidates are not belong to section 2.1.1
- Examination subjects:
⦁    Fundamental subjects: Calculus and statistics
⦁    Basic subject: Money and financial markets
⦁    Foreign language: English
- Examination methods:
⦁    Fundamental and subjects: written exam in 180 minutes
⦁    English test: listening, reading and writing skills, MCQs and written exams in 120 minutes, include the speaking tests
2.2    Admission candidates:
According to the Decision 2257/2017/QĐ-TĐT dated 01/12/2017 or Dean of TDTU, the admission candidates have to meet following requirements:
⦁    Group 1: Candidates have the same major and have bachelor degree in 
⦁    Finance and banking, banking, finance, international finance, corporate finance, financial analysis and investments, investments, international investment, stock investments, insurance, finance-banking-insurance…)
⦁    Or graduated with different major than above lists, but have less than 10% different in teaching program of TDTU
⦁    Group 2: Candidate have close major and have bachelor degree in
⦁    Economics, foreign economics, business, accounting-auditing, managements, business and management…
⦁    Or graduated with different major than above lists, but have from 10% to less than 40% different in teaching program of TDTU
⦁    The candidate in group 2 need to study supplement subjects or have at least 1 year experience in banking and finance sector before the applied date. Candidates also need to have minimum 5 marks for Money and Financial market (2 credits), Corporate finance (2 credits)
⦁    Group 3: other candidates are not listed in group 1 and 2
⦁    The candidate in group 3 need to study supplement subjects or have at least 1 year experience in banking and finance sector before the applied date. Candidates also need to have minimum 5 marks for Money and Financial market (2 credits), Corporate finance (2 credits), Accounting principle (2 credits), Commercial bank (2 credits), Macro-economic (2 credits) and Micro-economic (2 credits
