About Career Planning 1
Career Planning 1 is a foundational course specifically designed for first-year students of the Faculty of Finance and Banking. The course not only provides an overview of the finance and banking discipline but also emphasizes the development of soft skills, academic capabilities, and professional mindset at the undergraduate level. Its core objective is to help students transition smoothly from high school to a professional-oriented educational environment and prepare them to embrace upcoming major-specific challenges.
Objectives of the Field Trip
• Workplace Observation:
Students directly explored and observed the working atmosphere and corporate culture of one of Vietnam’s leading banks, enabling them to relate their introductory academic knowledge to real-world practices.
• Industry Expert Engagement:
Students had the valuable opportunity to interact with experienced speakers and senior specialists from various functional departments at MB. The experts provided multidimensional perspectives on banking operations, investment, credit, and essential competencies required for future finance professionals.
• Career Orientation:
The activity motivated first-year students to identify early their interests in specific job roles and functional areas, enabling them to proactively plan their academic and skills development more effectively throughout their university years.
Key Outcomes
• Students practiced basic banking skills such as simulating customer service transactions and explored different departmental workspaces—making banking knowledge more tangible and engaging beyond textbooks.
• The enthusiastic guidance and professional environment at MB significantly motivated students to recognize the importance of strengthening foreign language proficiency, digital literacy, and specialized knowledge from the outset.
• The interaction also fostered initial professional networking opportunities between students and industry experts, opening doors to potential internships and experiential programs such as MB Chasing Program and other employment pathways.
The Faculty of Finance and Banking extends its sincere appreciation to the leadership team and distinguished experts of Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) for their thoughtful support and remarkable hospitality throughout this experiential learning activity.
