To orient and encourage students of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) towards start-up activities; Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in collaboration with Bricon Company (Korea) organizes the Start-up Competition for students: “TDTU STARTUP WINGS 2019”. The total prize of the Contest is up to US$ 10,000. The competition will take place from 15th February 2019 to 30th July 2019.

On the afternoon of February 28th, 2019, the Faculty of Finance and Banking was honored and pleased to welcome Professor Hongjoo Jung - director of the Global Insurance & Pension Research Center - Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, Professor Sang-rim Lee – President of Korean Insurance Academy Society and other professors from top universities in Korea visited and worked with the Faculty of Finance and Banking. The meeting took place with the participation of Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking - Dr. Hoang Cam Trang and lecturers from the Faculty.

On February 18th, 2019, the Faculty of Finance and Banking had a meeting with Assoc. Chune Young Chung and Assoc. Hong Kee Sul, Chung-Ang University, South Korea (CAU) with the attendance of leaders and lecturers of the Faculty. During the meeting, the two universities discussed to build and develop international cooperation programs such as establishing a joint research group, developing student and lecturer exchange programs, building the dual degree program and consulting on the development of doctoral program.

On February 14, 2019, Faculty of Finance and Banking was pleased to welcome back Professor. Chune Young Chune and Professor. Hong Kee Sul from Chung – Ang University, Republic of Korea came to share and work with lecturers and students. During this visit, Professors had a meeting with leaders and faculty members to share and discuss on training program for purpose of innovating and improving the quality of education programs.

Web of Science (WoS, Clarivate, USA), Statistical database of scientific research articles published in the world's leading prestigious journals (often referred as ISI) has just released the results of the latest 3-year science and technology from 2016 to 2018 for countries and regions in the world. In Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region, the universities of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are almost "dominating".

On the morning of December 25, 2018, the Faculty of Finance and Banking is pleased to welcome Mr. Dennis Vossen - Programme Director, Ms. Jeanet Nijland – Coordinator Internationalization and Mr. Edwald Mentink - lecturer of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands visited, discussed and worked with lecturers and students of Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University.

On the morning of December 21st, 2018, the Faculty of Finance and Banking was delighted to welcome Mr. Edwald Mentink - lecturer from the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, Saxion University of Applied Sciences - Netherlands. During this visit, Mr. Edwald Mentink had a meeting with lecturers of the Faculty of Finance and Banking. In addition, he organized a number of seminars for TDTU students to present and share knowledge on topics in finance and accounting. This is a great opportunity for TDTU students to learn and expand their knowledge in the financial sector.

Under the high-quality program of finance and banking at TDTU, students are taught some classes of CFA-related subjects from second to fourth years, then students are encouraged to take CFA certificate level 1 with 9 different subjects. In recent years, this certificate is one of the important requirements, or a plus that multinational companies, financial groups, international insurance companies for their recruitment activities.

On 26 November 2018, Finance and Banking Faculty organizes a second discussion seminar in the 1st semester of 2018-2019 academic year. In this seminar, students have opportunities to ask questions about studies and extra-activities. In addition, the faculty also cooperates with Saigon Bank and Shinhan Bank to conduct career orientation and recruitment.
