The Bachelor Program of The Faculty of Finance and Banking is Officially Recognized by CPA Australia

CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies, representing over 166,000 members across more than 100 countries and regions around the world. More than 25,000 CPA Australia members are currently working in senior leadership positions such as CEO and CFO. Its core services to members include education, training, technical support and advocacy.

A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) is a finance, accounting and business professional with a specific qualification. Being a CPA Australia member is a mark of high professional competence. It indicates a soundness in depth, breadth and quality of accountancy knowledge. CPA Australia members are widely regarded by employers and professional organisations globally.

To use the CPA Australia designation, a member must complete a degree or a postgraduate award recognised by CPA Australia; complete the CPA Program, including three years of professional experience in finance, accounting or business; undertake CPD activities each year and comply to a strict code of conduct set by CPA Australia.

Recently, CPA Australia has recognised the Bachelor program of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University, as equivalent to Australian bachelor degree level. This being said, students holding a Bachelor’s degree of Finance and Banking are eligible to become a fully qualified CPA Australia member.

CPA Australia’s Professional Standards team in Melbourne’s headquarter used the standards issued by the Australian Government Department of Education and other international benchmarks to determine the Bachelor’s degree of the Faculty matches the competency requirements for entry to the CPA Program. Students who graduate from the Faculty’s bachelor program, from 2019 onward, would be able to obtain exemptions on 4 Foundation exams.

This recognition illustrates the effort to standardise and globalise the training program of the Faculty of Finance and Banking as well as to facilitate students to achieve global CPA designation.
