Welcoming and Working with Representatives from Massey University, New Zealand

On April 18, 2025, the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Ton Duc Thang University was pleased to host a delegation from Massey University, New Zealand, for a visit and working session.

 During this visit, the Faculty organized an academic seminar in collaboration with the Massey University delegation. The seminar, themed "Meta Trends in Financial Services," took place in Meeting Room B.

The delegation from Massey University in New Zealand consisted of Dr. Jeffrey Stangl, the Director of International Relations, and Ms. Ha Lien Ton, an International University Advisor and lecturer at both the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Management. Representing Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam were Dr. Le Bao Thy, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, along with faculty members and students from the faculty.

During the academic seminar, Mr. Jeffrey Stangl shared insights about his personal career journey in the finance industry, along with career opportunities and future challenges in the field. He discussed the current economic landscape and the impact of financial technology (FinTech) on today’s financial markets. Additionally, he engaged with students on the essential skills needed in finance and investment.

Moreover, Mr. Stangl emphasized the importance of building a personal brand and having a clear career orientation while still in university, so that students can be well-prepared for their future paths.

Regarding the joint training program in Economics between Ton Duc Thang University and Massey University, Mr. Stangl addressed and answered students’ questions to help them prepare for studying and living in New Zealand during their transition phase.

At the end of the academic seminar, students gained valuable insights into the training programs and career orientation shared by the Massey University delegation.

This annual academic exchange between the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Ton Duc Thang University and Massey University marks a strong, long-term partnership and friendship between the two parties.
