Faculty of Finance and Banking Welcomes the Cohort 29 Freshmen

On the morning of September 12, 2025, the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Ton Duc Thang University hosted the Welcoming Ceremony for Cohort 29 Freshmen at Hall 6B. The event featured the Faculty’s leaders, academic advisors, representatives from various departments, student clubs, and all incoming students of the 29th Cohort.
This year, the Faculty officially launched the International Finance major – marking its first intake and offering students more diverse study options.

The program was organized with the aim of introducing Ton Duc Thang University and the Faculty, sharing the common cultural values of the University, the Faculty, and the discipline; highlighting the key activities of the Youth Union, the Student Association, and the Faculty’s clubs; as well as disseminating regulations and policies for Ton Duc Thang University students. At the same time, the program served as a source of inspiration and career orientation for freshmen through meetings with academic advisors, outstanding senior students, and sharing sessions from industry enterprises.
The 2025–2026 Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyễn Gia Đường, MSc – Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking; Dr. Lê Bảo Thy – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking; Mr. Vũ Phạm Tín – Representative of the Student Affairs Office; Heads of Departments, lecturers and staff of the Faculty; and, most importantly, the full attendance of the freshmen of Cohort 29 of the Faculty of Finance and Banking.
The program began with a congratulatory and welcoming speech delivered by the Head of the Faculty to the freshmen of Cohort 29. His words of encouragement will serve as valuable guidance for the students as they begin adapting to their new learning environment. In addition, Mr. Vũ Phạm Tín once again emphasized the student regulations and policies that need to be carefully observed, while also warning about the latest fraudulent schemes often targeting students, aiming to ensure a safe and healthy academic environment.
The Faculty also introduced the lecturers who will serve as academic advisors (homeroom lecturers) for each class. The lecturers took the opportunity to introduce themselves and get acquainted with their classes, fostering a sense of connection for the students’ four-year journey at the university. In particular, Dr. Lê Bảo Thy emphasized the crucial role of academic advisors, who will accompany, support, and share with students in overcoming difficulties, helping them quickly adapt to the new environment—especially during the early stage when freshmen are still unfamiliar with university life.
Alongside the heartfelt advice from the lecturers, the atmosphere of the ceremony was further energized by vibrant musical performances presented by senior students. In addition, outstanding freshmen with excellent scores in this year’s admission round were honored at the event and awarded scholarships sponsored by the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBBank), South Saigon Branch. Toward the end of the program, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Long Giang – Deputy Director of MBBank South Saigon Branch – shared her insights on the finance and banking industry in the current era of digital transformation. She also provided career orientation and emphasized the essential skills and knowledge that students should cultivate during their university years, helping them gain confidence in the profession they have chosen.
The program not only created a warm and welcoming atmosphere but also encouraged freshmen to confidently begin their learning and experiential journey at the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University.
