Meeting and Academic Exchange with Representatives from Massey University, New Zealand

On 18 September 2026, the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), was pleased to welcome a delegation from Massey University, New Zealand, for an exchange with students enrolled in the 2+1.5 International Joint Program in Business.

During the visit, the Faculty of Finance and Banking organized an academic session with the Massey University delegation under the theme “Ideas to Impact: From Academic Ideas to Real-World Influence.” The event also welcomed the 2026–2027 cohort of new students, providing them with an opportunity to learn more about Massey University, the study environment in New Zealand, and the international learning experience awaiting them in the second stage of the program.

The Massey University delegation included Professor Jo Bensemann, Head of the School of Management and Marketing and International Director of Massey Business School, and Ms. Ha Lien Ton, International University Advisor and lecturer at the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Management, Massey University, New Zealand. Representing Ton Duc Thang University were Dr. Le Bao Thy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, together with faculty members and students of the Faculty.

Opening the discussion, Ms. Ha Lien Ton introduced Massey University, its learning and research environment, scholarship opportunities, and practical advice to help students make the most of the second stage of their studies.

Professor Jo Bensemann shared insights on turning ideas developed in the classroom into real-world impact, reflecting the spirit of the international learning journey offered through the TDTU × Massey University partnership.

She also emphasized the importance of building a personal brand and developing a clear career direction while still at university so that students can be well prepared for their future. Regarding the joint programs in business and economics between Ton Duc Thang University and Massey University, Jeffrey Stangl addressed students’ questions and provided useful guidance to help them prepare for studying and living in New Zealand during the transition to the next stage of the program.

At the conclusion of the academic session, students gained valuable insights into the joint program and career orientation from the Massey University delegation. The annual academic exchange between the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Ton Duc Thang University, and Massey University further strengthened the friendly and long-standing partnership between the two institutions.
